ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Medical Writer develops high‑quality scientific and medical content across HCP, site staff, patient, and caregiver audiences. This role synthesizes complex clinical information into clear, accurate narratives and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to deliver strategic, digestible, evidence‑based content across multiple print and digital formats.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Development and Scientific Writing

\n
• Develop high‑quality medical and scientific content across patient (pediatric and adult), caregiver, HCP, and site staff audiences
\n
• Write educational materials across print formats (e.g., brochures, study guides, letters, posters, discussion guides, flipcharts, slide decks) and digital formats (e.g., 2D/3D animation, live video, websites, social media)
\n
• Translate complex clinical and scientific information into clear, accurate, audience‑appropriate narratives
\n
• Navigate and develop content from journal articles and clinical trial protocols for HCP, site staff, and patient/caregiver audiences, interpreting and distilling complex protocol, disease state and mechanism of action (MOA) information into clear, accessible messaging
\n

Research, Accuracy, and Evidence Integration

\n
• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize data from clinical studies, guidelines, and scientific sources
\n
• Ensure all content is evidence‑based, referenced appropriately, and aligned with medical and regulatory standards
\n
• Validate accuracy of scientific claims, data points, and clinical interpretations
\n

Client Engagement and Cross‑Functional Collaboration

\n
• Collaborate with project stakeholders and work closely with the Creative and Digital Teams to align on content needs
\n
• Participate in client discussions to clarify scientific direction, messaging, and content strategy
\n
• Present scientific rationale and content recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
\n

Scientific Direction, Quality & Editorial Oversight

\n
• Provide scientific direction on content projects, ensuring clinical accuracy, appropriate evidence use, and alignment with therapeutic area standards
\n
• Review all content outputs for scientific accuracy, source traceability, and audience appropriateness before delivery
\n
• Establish and uphold scientific and editorial standards across content deliverables, ensuring consistency with medical, regulatory, and brand guidelines
\n
• Serve as an internal scientific resource, advising on clinical interpretation, data presentation, and evidence gaps across projects
\n

CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

• Advanced degree in a scientific or medical field (e.g., MS, MPH, PharmD, PhD) required
\n
• Extensive experience (3-5+years) in medical writing, particularly in pharma marketing/advertising. Experience with creative writing a plus
\n
• Proven ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, accurate content
\n
• Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in medical or scientific writing
\n
• Experience using generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, NotebookLM) in a medical or regulated writing context, with a clear understanding of their limitations, hallucination risks, and appropriate use boundaries
\n
• Fluency in English with exceptional editorial, scientific, and communication skills
\n
• Knowledgeable in regulatory, compliance, and scientific accuracy requirements
